Dana Zane is the owner of the bar where Jill Stingray works, a former professional wrestler (known as the Red Comet during this period), and the person after whom the Dana Zane Fan Club is named. She has, to the best of everyone's knowledge, no personal involvement in the Fan Club, no awareness of it, and no music of her own.[citation needed] She is nonetheless its central figure, on the grounds that a fan club needs someone to be about, and she was the most obvious candidate.
The bar and personality
Dana owns and runs the bar, keeps unusual hours, and employs a small staff that Jill is a part of. She is described by everyone who has met her as energetic, generous, and hyperactive. She tends to appear without warning.[citation needed]
Before the bar
Before she owned a bar, Dana wrestled professionally as "The Red Comet" and, by the only accounts available, won a great deal. She has a mechanical left arm. When asked about it, she has reportedly given a different answer every time, all of them delivered in the same cheerful tone, none of them the same.
Relationship with the Fan Club
There is no relationship. The Fan Club was named after Dana by Mimi Marzipan, who thinks the world of her, and Jill, who works for her and did not object. Neither founder has informed her that the Club exists, and both have offered slightly different reasons for this. Mimi says she is waiting for the right moment. Jill says there is no right moment.
Dana appears on the Club's logo, which was drawn by Mimi, alongside a comet that Mimi insists is red.[it is blue]
Trivia
- No verified photograph of her is in circulation. Every attempt is either blurred, empty, or somehow of the ceiling.
